5/5/2023 0 Comments Ka quiri agot![]() In CK2, players battle against other rulers for control of various independent realms and kingdoms. What makes this mod different from Crusader Kings II?īesides the obvious, which is a new interactive rendition of the fictional low-fantasy medieval setting of ASoIaF, you’ll notice a host of changes that build off the framework of the original (vanilla) CK2 game. Currently players are able to choose to play from any start date in the 300 years from before the Aegon's Conquest to the beginning of the fourth book ( A Feast for Crows). The mod takes its name from the first book in the series, as well as the “game” of plots and politics the ambitious and hopeful are said to be playing in their struggles for supremacy. ![]() Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire ( ASoIaF) fantasy saga where lords great and small vie for control over the lands of Ice and Fire, from Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms in the west, to Qarth in the east. (3) in short, the AGOT mod is a much more fleshed out game in a time period better known to most, but the TSK mod has a way better map and I think will be a better mod in the long run as features come out.“A Game of Thrones” ( AGOT) is a full-conversion mod for Paradox Interactive’s Crusder Kings II (CK2). EDIT: The TSK mod is also way more stable. ![]() The mechanics they currently have work really well, and the ones that are coming will make it a superb mod. The map is stunning, and it’s also vast (having dozens of provinces in the Iron Islands alone, for example, is something I love the map is so large you could play a whole campaign just trying to conquer one of the Seven Kingdoms). (2) That said, the TSK mod is also amazing as far as I’m concerned, and that’s despite the devs saying it’s still an alpha. If you like playing in the timeline of the books, this is definitely for you (in one game as Robert Baratheon I quickly found our Cercei was planning to murder me, so I had her and Jamie imprisoned and executed, and took young Tyrion as a ward when Tywin rebelled, I quickly crushed him, executed him, and made sure Tyrion, as Lord of the Westerlands and Warden of the West, was a key asset in giving Westeros a bright future instead of endless war). (1) the AGOT mod is amazing, fleshed out, and with an incredibly wide array of special mechanics they have made for the mod. that don’t exist during the Age of Petty Kings), they already have a number of unique artifacts (think Valyrian steel weapons), and the devs have long discussed adding in lots of other features (including dragons, a market system, and variations on many of the other features in the AGOT mod). (2) the TSK mod has a cool resource system (think EUIV) where each province has a resource (or two or three) that affect the province in special ways, they have adapted the off map China system from vanilla to stand in for the Freehold of Valyria, they are about to add 100+ unique buildings all over the map, they already have special buildings you can develop over time (like Dragonstone, Sunspear, etc. (1) the AGOT mod undoubtedly has more features, including dragons, bloodlines (although I assume that will change with CKII releasing their own official version of bloodlines), knighthoods, squires, direworlves, The Citadel, septons, etc. (2) the devs for TSK mod plan to add other dates up through the Doom of Valyria, which would probably have the Targaryens on Dragonstone getting ready to launch their invasion. (1) The AGOT mod focuses heavily on “recent” history (the time period from the books and the century or so before the books), while the TSK mod focuses on the Age of Petty Kings (during the Andal invasion) and the Age of Heroes (think the mythical Bran the Builder, Lann the Cleaver, etc.) however (4) the map in the TSK mod is much nicer/more detailed/looks substantially better.people like different things in their CKII maps, but imo the TSK map looks much better than the AGOT map, which is what drew me to TSK mod in the first place (I’m a sucker for pretty maps). (3) because the TSK map only includes a small slice of Essos, Westeros has way more provinces and feels way more realistic and finally (2) both mods have roughly the same number of provinces (nearly 1,500) but (1) the TSK mod includes all of Westeros and only a sliver of western Essos (basically just the Free Cities), while the AGOT mod includes all of known Essos in addition to Westeros ![]() Both mods are aware of each other but will not be using resources from each other. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series (and other works) are set. I’ve seen a few folks ask about this a while back, in archived posts, and haven’t really seen serious answers about the differences between both mods.įirst, both mods are set in the world where G.R.R.
